Guitar playing at Assembly
Briar and Georgia played the Lazy Song at assembly. They changed some of the bad words around so it sounded better and more responsible. The new lyrics are great! They are also funny .
Also at assembly, some students shared their Acrostic poems about DROUGHT. There is a serious drought at the moment in the Horn of Africa.

Room 5's Awesome Day Skiing
We went on a ski trip to Ohau skifield. This is Kyung In Kim and Kian Muir on the magic carpet, going up to the top to ski down. It takes about 7 minutes to get up to the top.
It was so exciting because it was Kyung Ins second time skiing in her life. Kyung In said that it was a great day for her. 8 beginner snow boarders went snow boarding for their first time. They all had a lesson together. In the lesson there were 15 people because there was another school there. All the 8 people who went snow boarding had an awesome time.
Lots of the children were saying I want to snow board not ski. Room 5 had a fantastic day.

Some of Room 5 students did science projects during the holidays. They finished them off during class time on Wednesday and Thurday last week. We all displayed them on Friday for 3 judges to decide which projects won from each age group. Here is 1 of the projects from a Room 5 student. Kyung Ins project was about "Which way is the best way to keep an ice-cube from melting." The best way to keep an ice-cube from melting is put the ice-cube on a plate with a bowl over the plate. It took over 50 minutes to melt..

Fantastic Fantasy Brought to Life!!!
"George and the Dragon" was an amazing production performed ,during Week 11 of Term 2, by students of Twizel Area School! They sang, danced, recited and delivered their lines brilliantly. Audiences , over 3 nights, were enthralled and performers had a fantastic time as they entertained whanau and friends. Well done!
