Room 5 Science Fair Projects

Some of Room 5 students did science projects during the holidays. They finished them off during class time on Wednesday and Thurday last week. We all displayed them on Friday for 3 judges to decide which projects  won  from each age group. Here is 1 of the projects from a Room 5 student. Kyung Ins project was about "Which way is the best way to keep an ice-cube from melting." The best way to keep an ice-cube from melting is put the ice-cube on a plate with a bowl over the plate.It took over 50 minutes to melt..

Fantastic Fantasy Brought to Life!!!

Crim and Nal [Liam Stewart and Josh Nelson]
 measure up Betty Luck {Rebecca Doherty}

Room 5 villagers thought "beating up
dragons would be lots of fun!"

"George and the Dragon" was an amazing production performed ,during Week 11 of Term 2, by students of Twizel Area School! They sang, danced, recited and delivered their lines brilliantly. Audiences , over 3 nights, were enthralled and performers had a fantastic time as they entertained whanau and friends. Well done!

Sir Fred(Josh CB)leapt very high to avoid the sharp, swishing
sword of Drag Justice Kirkwood!

Poor town-cryer(Finn Allerston) had a woeful time as a result of delivering his "news" to the crowds.

Technics

Sahar is having fun creating with the technics. We all got to make whatever we wanted , in pairs, with the technics,
In  the picture Sahar is making a car with the  technic box A or B, It is one of the more advanced boxes which we only have 2 of . They come with batteries so they can  make whatever you make move, if you install them correctly.

We think everyone had fun with the technics.

So Much Paper Mashe All Over You

This is Bailey Cutting and Brooke Rabbidge at Mr White's wood work room, making a big rock for the Twizel Area School production. The production is called George and the Dragon. There were 5 people working on the rock. There are 4 steps;
  • You had to screw up newspaper then put it in the wire and wood frame of the rock.
  • Next you had to paper mache the rock with really sticky glue and newspaper.
  • Then when you were finished  you would paint the first layer of white then maybe another layer after it dried.
  • After all that you would have to paint it grey/black.
Reporters: Brooke Rabbidge and Crystal Lavery.
